Cruel But Funny Entertainment

Well the truth is out now! You all know how we spend our free time here at the Thomas house! Corlee actually enjoyed it! I wish the video was longer because she was just laughing! But my camera battery died so that is all the video we have!
Actually there is very little free time at our house. This weekend started out with Cole and I attending the 2nd annual Mother - Son dodge ball tournament at his school! It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed some yummy pizza then made our way to the gym for scooter board dodge ball!!! Let me just tell you that I was feeling my age (ans how out of shape I am.) after just a few minutes! My thighs were sure burning, I was happy to get "out"!
Then on Saturday we endured 2 basketball games and a baseball practice! Chloe scored 3 goals this week!!!
And on Sunday we rested!!! (If you consider laundry, ironing, and cleaning house resting!)
Oh I almost forgot about another "proud" moment! The kids brought home their report cards on Friday. Cole had straight A's for the 3rd 6 weeks and his semester averages were all 94 or above!!! And he has perfect attendance so far this year! I really don't know who this kid belongs to :) Chloe had all checks on her report card!!! In kindergarten they do not get letter grades, but she got the highest marks possible! She is reading now and really loves school! She has only missed 1 day of school and that was when she had her tonsils removed :(

Proud Moments

Chris and I are fortunate that our kids make us proud fairly often! But this week we again found ourselves so proud of them! Cole competed in his first ever UIL competition. He was 1 of 2 2nd graders chosen from his school to compete in storytelling. In storytelling they read the students a story then the students have to wait their turn to go in and retell that story with as much expression and excitement as they can in front of a panel of judges. This Friday Cole competed against about 20 other students from around the school district. Chris and I were in the waiting area with him before competition and he was REALLY nervous! He did not advance to the finals but we were very proud of his accomplishment!
Then on Saturday Cole and Chloe both played basketball again! This week Cole's team lost and Chloe's team won! This week Cole did not make any baskets, but Chloe scored her first 2 points! Cole received the "Most Sportsman Like" star and Chloe received another "Defense" star!
We really have a lot to be proud of here at the Thomas house but unfortunately we spend most of our time rushing from one place to another and don't tell our children often enough how proud of them we really are!

Here Comes Corlee!!!

Wow, how fast little miss is growing and changing right before my eyes! Just a couple of weeks ago Chris and I were talking and wondering if Corlee would ever crawl the "right" way. She had the "wounded soldier" crawl...you know when she is crawling on her elbows dragging the rest of her body! And now just 2 short weeks later she is crawling the "right" way, pulling up on everything, walking along the sofa, and even pushing her baby that Santa brought her! She is growing up way too fast. I am so fortunate to be able to spend most of the day with her. I really love being able to see these milestones! Here is a little video of Corlee pushing her baby!

Cherish each and every day because they all seem to be going too fast!

Go Ballhogs!!!

Chloe and a few of her team mates that she has been playing soccer with, for 2 years now, played in an indoor soccer league for the first time this season. The indoor league was for boys and girls 7 an under. All of the kids on our team are in kindergarten and I believe they are all 6 years old. They had a wonderful season, especially for it being their first time to play indoor! Anyway they finished their season with a 5-2-1 record which put them in 2nd place in the league! Then last night they played in a mini-tournament and finished 3rd! Chloe loves soccer, I believe this is truly her passion! And I must say I think she is pretty good!

Are You Ready for Some Basketball

Both of the kids are playing Upwards basketball this season. Their first games were yesterday! We were very proud of both of them! Chloe is on the Falcons. They are a co-ed team of 9 kindergarteners. It was fun to watch them on the court. Chloe really likes basketball but she is having a hard time understanding that it is NOT a contact sport! She got the Best Defense award yesterday.
Cole is on the Yellowjackets. His team is made up of 1st and 2nd grade boys! You can sure tell a difference in his team, they looked like they knew what they were doing! Cole made his first basket yesterday! He was awarded the Best Effort star for yesterdays game.
Corlee was a good sport for most of the time. As long as you keep her entertained with juice and cherrios she is a happy camper!
Here are a few pics from this weekend. I forgot to take my camera to Chloe's basketball game but I will next weekend!

Both of the girls love to help me cook, but as you can see Chloe is lots more help!!!

And after dinner we are ALWAYS in need of a bath! Have a Great Week!

"ROLLING" in the New Year

Cole loves his teacher so much that he has been wanting to do something really special for her. Yes, he gives her the occasional gifts and yes he gave her a Christmas present. But Cole really wanted to do something more...So Chris and all his wisdom told Cole exactly what he should give her! Chris explained to Cole that "back in our day" you "rolled" peoples' houses that you really liked...So guess where my husband and children were at 4:30 am! Yes...You guessed it!!!

We Love You Mrs. Bradford!!!

Happy New Year

I wonder if Cole will still have straight A's ??????????

Happy New Year

These three little jewels give Chris and I a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to in 2009! We look forward to a year filled with school, homework, UIL Storytelling, basketball, soccer, baseball, and more! Our kids really do keep us busy!
The kids and I rang in the new year with some really good friends last night. (Chris was out rendering aid to those in need!) We had a really good time!
Corlee loved the party horns!
Chloe loved the "toasting"!

(I am worried that this picture might come back to haunt me in years to come! She is our wild one!)

And I loved being with good friends!
We wish all of our friends and family the very best for 2009! Happy New Year!
